Why
College of Advanced Technology was established
1. There in an increasing demand for skilled and trained technical persons by the industrial sector.
2. There is phenomenal growth of industrial sector not only in the state of Uttarakhand but also in the neighboring states of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and U.P.. This offers tremendous
opportunities for employment.
3. Regionally, a new technical face has emerged with the establishment of several industrial conglomerates and labs around CAT ; Roorkee, Manglore, Landhaura, Raipur and Bhagwanpur with
the establishment of ASI glass, Borosil, Goldplus, Ambuja cement, Liberty, Titan, Aska, Everest, Birla Aircon, CAT provides opportunities for exposure to industrial sector.
4. On the educational front, several new institutes offering degree, diploma and certificate courses in various disciplines are established within a radius of 20 km from CAT. These add to the academic
atmosphere of the region. The Asia’s oldest technical university (now IIT-Roorkee), Central Building Research Institute, National Institute of Hydrology also gives academic environment.

4. शैक्षिक स्तर पर, कॉलिज आॅफ एडवांस्ड टेक्नोलॉजी से 20 किमी. के दायरे में अनेक नये संस्थानेां की स्थापना जो विभिन्न व्यवसायिक विषयों में डिग्री, डिप्लोमा एवं सर्टिफिकेट पाठ्यक्रमों का संचालन करते हैं ये सब इस अंचल में एक अकादमीय वातावरण का निर्माण करते हैं। रुड़की युनिवर्सिटी, एशिया महाद्वीप का सबसे पुरातन प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, (अब आई.आई.टी. रुड़की), केन्द्रीय भवन अनुसंधान संस्थान, राश्ट्रीय जलविज्ञान संस्थान आदि मिलकर रुड़की को एक गरिमा प्रदान करते हैं।
